My Favorite Blank Apparel & Where I Buy Them!
Finding the perfect blanks for your small business can be difficult and overwhelming. There are so many options, brands, and styles to choose from. I put together a list of my favorite blanks that I consistently use for my products. I've been making t-shirts for almost two years and its taken a lot of trial and error to find my favorites. I sorted the following shirts into the categories “best price” and “best quality”!
I get all my blank apparel from Presshall.com. They offer wholesale prices with NO minimums which means you can get one shirt or you can get 1,000! This is great for people who want to order just a few samples to test. Also, they ship out orders very quickly!
Crewnecks
Price:
1. 18000 Gildan Heavy Blend Crewneck Sweatshirt:
The Gildan 18000 has been my absolute favorite since day one. It was the first crewneck I ordered when I started my business and I've continued to use it since. This blank is the definition of a staple sweatshirt. It is so comfy, universal and the price is even better! There are also a ton of colors to choose from.
Price: $6.99
2. P160 Hanes EcoSmart Crewneck:
If you can not find the Gildan 18000, my next go to is the Hanes EcoSmart crew. It is essentially the same as the Gildan. Great quality, universal and offers a great price for beginners wanting to test the waters!
Price: $7.99
3. PC78 Port & Company Core Fleece Crewneck Sweatshirt:
The PC78 is also very similar to the two listed above! It is very soft inside and offers a basic, comfortable (and a little oversized) fit. The PC78 is isn't too heavy and is perfect for the fall or winter!
Price: $6.95
Quality:
1. 1566 Comfort Colors Ring Spun Crewneck Sweatshirt:
If you find yourself wanting to upgrade your quality of sweatshirts, I highly suggest investing in the Comfort Colors crewneck! This option is a little bit more spendy, but the quality is unbeatable! It is heavy duty with a nice vintage feel and look.
Price: $31.48
T-shirts:
Price:
1. 5000 Gildan Heavy Cotton 100% Cotton T-Shirt:
-The Gildan 5000 is one of my go-to's! It is comfy, lasts forever and is great for reverse tie-dying. The price is also amazing. Less than $3 for a good quality shirt!? You can't beat that.
Price: $2.75
2. 2000 Gildan Ultra Cotton 100% Cotton T-Shirt:
- find that the Gildan 2000 is a little bit softer than the 5000, but they are very similar! Virtually interchangeable. In addition to it's comfort and fit, the Gildan 2000 also offers so many colors to choose from!
Price: $3.40
3. PC54 Port & Company Core Cotton T-Shirt:
Another favorite is the PC54, its a great basic tee thats extremely affordable! This blank is one of the bests for reverse dying. There are lots of color options and this tee also lasts forever.
Price: $2.40
Quality:
1. 1717 Comfort Colors Heavyweight Ring Spun T-Shirt:
My all time favorite tee is the 1717 by CC. The quality is better than the tees listed above. I also love how the material makes it look “worn” and vintage. These tees last forever! Just note if you are looking to reverse dye, Comfort Colors DOES NOT bleach so use either the Gildan or Port and Co listed above!
Price: $7.49
Pullovers:
Price:
1. 18500 Gildan Heavy Blend Hooded Sweatshirt:
If you are looking for an everyday basic hoodie, the 18500 is a great option! The price is exceptional, especially for a sweatshirt! I have had some pilling with this sweatshirt, but other than that its quality is awesome for its price, and it's great for beginners.
Price: $12.89
2. 995M Jerzees NuBlend 1/4-Zip Cadet Collar Sweatshirt:
Quarter zips are so cute and if you're looking for an option that wont break the banks, the Jerzees quarter zip is perfect. Its so soft and warm inside and offers such a cute fit!
Price: $18.38
Quality:
1. 1567 Comfort Colors Ring Spun Hooded Sweatshirt:
By now you might be seeing a trend that CC is higher quality… I have never had any issues (like pilling) with this sweatshirt! It is also a lot heavier duty than the Jerzees sweatshirt. The wash is beautiful and is even cute enough to wear blank!
Price: $41.11
2. 1580 Comfort Colors Ring Spun 1/4-Zip Sweatshirt:
The 1580 CC is a higher quality version of the Jerzees quarter zip but it is a bit pricey! Its heavier than the Jerzees but there are limited color options.
Price: $39.36
Please note that all the blanks listed above are unisex, meaning they do run a little bit oversized. I like my shirts to be a little bit bigger and that is why I order only unisex apparel!
I hope this post can provide some guidance to those looking into starting a t-shirt business or those looking to add more products to their shop. This is all personal preferences, but after 2 years of research and trial and error, these are my all time favorite go-to blanks!
